Stacker system
Flexible control, efficiency improvement, precise positioning
The Xinje stacker equipment uses a flexible speed control solution to reduce the impact caused by speed changes, significantly shortening the buffering distance during start and stop, and enhancing the stacker's efficiency.
Industry background
The stacker crane is a veteran piece of equipment in automated storage and retrieval systems and serves as the execution component of the entire system, handling all inbound and outbound goods. It can achieve three degrees of freedom (X, Y, Z) in movement. The X-axis represents the horizontal movement of the stacker crane, the Y-axis is for vertical movement, and the Z-axis enables the fork's telescopic action. For storage, the stacker crane retrieves goods from the inbound/outbound platform and accurately places them in designated locations. For retrieval, it removes goods from storage locations and places them on the inbound/outbound platform, after which other conveying equipment transports them to other destinations.
Control solution
Option 1
Utilize the XLQ7 series controller and frequency conversion system or servo system with EtherCAT motion control bus to achieve high-flexibility start/stop and high-precision operation for travel, lifting, and fork extension.
Option 2
Adopt Xinje's high-performance dual closed-loop servo series, including DS5C2 and DM6C, to enhance the motion performance of traditional frequency closed-loop control systems.
(1) The laser distance sensors on the travel and lift axes feed position and speed information back to the PLC controller via SSI or EthernetIP communication, enabling dual closed-loop control of position and speed through PID algorithms.
(2) The laser distance sensors on the travel and lift axes use the SSI interface of the servo drive to feed back operational information, forming a dual closed-loop control of speed and position within the servo drive.
The PLC controller works in conjunction with the upper computer (WMS or WCS) to input and allocate work instructions, providing real-time status feedback.
